Everyone!
have just opened in the NYMF festival in Open The Dark Door
playing dual roles: NUN IRENE and MATILDA, a mad woman
fter
playing 2 dead bodies and a bag lady this past fall (see below),
I am happy to be singing and dancing again. You saw me as Mrs. Leiber
in Goodbye and Good Luck at the York
Theatre Staged Reading series in February 2009. The score was
by David Frieman, with lyrics by Muriel Robinson and book by Melba
Thomas. It is based on a short story by Grace Paley.
or
the past several years, I have been busy theatrically both in New
York City and on the road. I recently returned from Phoenix Theatre
Center where I was seen as Jeanette in FULL MONTY (my third portrayal
of that role in the last 18 months.) This past fall/winter season,
you might have found me at Syracuse Stage AS YENTE in their production
of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. In addition, New Yorkers may have seen me
at The Mint Theatre in ECHOES OF THE WAR, NYMTF's THE LAST STARFIGHTER
and 50 MILLION FRENCHMEN at Alliance Francaise.
will soon be seen in a film called CLEAR BLUE TUESDAY as The Bag
Lady — my true calling!
also filmed a pilot called MEET PETE — playing a hard-of-hearing
racetrack teller (good for many laughs). I have also been seen as
a poker-playing card shark opposite Lea DeLaria in a film MERCURY
IN RETROGRADE.
any
of you may know I was Executive Producer, as well as having the
role of Elaine, in a film called TALE OF TWO PIZZAS starring Vinnie
Pastore and Frank Vincent of SOPRANOS fame. A highlight for me was
playing one of the old ladies with a walker in the film THE PRODUCERS.
t
has been a wonderful few years and I expect the coming ones to be
even better with more films, more TV, more theatre pieces to do
— and the rebirth of my commercial and V.O. career. Each year
I bring a new face to my theatrical history.
will have some surprises coming — so stay tuned! And check
the NEWS page for late-breaking updates.
